Chapter 1.
Asign
“Good morning, Genie!” said Aya. “I’ll brush my teeth, clean your bottle, and we go on our adventure!”
“Wonderful! I’ll brush my teeth too, so the bottle stays clean from the inside. Where to, Aya?”
“I don’t know yet! I want to explore what I haven’t seen. But first I need the right outfit. Something that helps me move, even when there are obstacles. I want to keep my beautiful dress, though. Perhaps it just needs a new name!”
“A new name?”
“Yes! Once I went to England with two suitcases of my beautiful clothes. I came back with exactly the same clothes, but they had all become my England outfits! Even my socks!”
“Your socks?”
“The whole array! Even the ones I never wore! They all became my England socks because they traveled together. And I took so many that now I think of all my socks as England socks!”
“Remarkable,” said the genie. “Then perhaps we should find something for your outfit.”
He opened a little cupboard inside his bottle. It contained a pair of enormous slippers.
“How about these?”
Aya examined them.
“They’re funny! I like them!”
“Thank you. I made them myself.”
“But one is much bigger than the other!”
“Of course. One is for taking steps. The other is for taking chances.”
Aya laughed.
“But we need an outfit that helps us move forward!”
The genie reached into his pocket and pulled out a small glowing symbol.

“This is Asign,” he said.
Aya leaned closer.
“Why does Asign point left? I want to go forward!”
Asign floated toward Aya’s beautiful dress and settled gently on its hem.
“I can assign your outfit a new name that helps you move forward through meaning,” said Asign. “You are curious, Bunny Aya, and you have a flowing nature. You could be a river on your journey.”
Aya looked at her dress and smiled.
“River Bunny Aya! Yes! Just the right name for my outfit!”
The genie looked at his enormous slippers.
“And now,” he said, “which one was for taking chances?”
